Coronavirus Update

To our Patients and Friends of Smilecare Dental Clinic.

As a Dental Practice, we work in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything we do.  In addition to our usual scrupulous cross infection control measures, we have been paying close attention to all government guidance and updates related more specifically to Coronavirus.

Given the unprecedented situation in the UK regarding the rapidly spreading COVID-19 virus, we feel we must use our own clinical judgement and act in the best interests of our patients and staff.

We feel it is essential that we do our part to reduce the spread of this virus, and so it is with very heavy hearts, that we have taken the decision to temporarily close the practice to all routine dentistry except emergencies.

Emergencies will only include swelling and infection, trauma, and severe pain that is not manageable with painkillers. We shall triage each patient on a case by case basis. Please be understanding during this time, this is difficult for everyone, and we are doing our very best to protect patients and staff through appropriate triage.

As part of our triage protocol, and in the event of a dental emergency, all patients who are classed as vulnerable; over 70 years old, pregnant patients and those of any age with an underlying health condition, will be allocated to a specific time slot to minimise their contact with other individuals.

All being well, we will re-open mid June to July.  We will of course keep you updated with the latest information on our website

Thank you for your support, and stay safe,

Are you worried that you may need dental treatment?

Here at Smilecare our philosophy is to help our patients become dentally fit with minimal intervention. There is often more than one approach to treatment, so if you are looking for just a second opinion or a conservative treatment plan we can help. Pop in or call us for a welcome pack and a chat with our friendly receptionists: Jan, Charlotte or Rachel.

Do you think you may be told off?

We often find that patients who haven’t seen a dentist for a long time are concerned that they will receive a lecture from us. Here at Smilecare we understand that dentistry can be a daunting prospect, we are good at listening to what you want and any concerns you may have, and we promise not to tell you off.

Would you like to be looked after by friendly people who really care?

We believe in looking after our employees so much so they won’t want to work anywhere else. This means that every one at Smilecare will take the time and care needed to look after you. This is reflected in that most of our patients come through personal recommendation via a friend, family member or work colleague.
